Founded in 2014 by Stephen, Kara, and Owen King, Ironclad Distillery Co. is situated in the prodigious, century-old S.W. Holt & Co. warehouse in downtown Newport News, Virginia. The distillery takes its name from the legendary Civil War Battle of the Ironclads, which occurred in the waters within view of the building. They operate under a strict "Ironclad rule" to produce only authentic, small-batch bourbon whiskey.
